The short answer
What is the Kung Fu Cat meme?
Kung Fu Cat AI is a TikTok meme of AI-made cats fighting like martial arts film heroes, and AI Meme Videos makes a 15-second version from one photo, with your own cat as the swordmaster in the storm.
Kung Fu Cat is less one video than a running TikTok joke: a housecat, played completely straight, as the hero of an old martial arts film. The fun is the mismatch. Everything around the cat is epic, from the storm to the sword technique, and the cat itself has the same flat face it wears when you are late with dinner.
The clips we checked come in a few flavours. Some are lone-warrior pieces, like the ginger tabby in a conical hat cutting water out of the air in front of a giant cliff Buddha. Others are comedies, like a mustached man at a banquet who ends a duel by pulling out a laser pointer. Newer ones are short and cute: a kitten in a red headband, or a tiny one shadowboxing on a wet road.
The radar described this as AI turning a cat into a kung fu master. That is close, but most clips we saw invent their cat from scratch. Using your own pet's photo is the part that is still fairly rare: one post in our list promotes a pet template, which we do not show.
On AI Meme Videos your cat gets the lead role. Upload one photo and it keeps its own face and markings, gains a hat, a cape and a sword, and fights through the same storm. No Kung Fu Panda and no other licensed characters here: only your animal.
4 steps
How to do the Kung Fu Cat trend
Upload one pet photo
One animal, face clearly visible, good light. A front-on photo of a sitting cat is the safest choice.
Pick a model and quality
Standard at 720p is the default and costs 10 credits; 480p costs 5.
Generate
In a few minutes you get a 15-second vertical clip of your cat in the storm, with sound.
Post it with a title
Add #KungFuCat and #aicat, and give your cat a grand warrior name in the caption.
Beat by beat
The 15-second clip, beat by beat
Timed from the original clip. Every render follows this sheet.
| Time | Beat | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 0-3.5s | The sprint | The camera races low behind the cat as it runs up the flooded plaza on two legs, sword straight out to one side. |
| 3.5-4.5s | The gate | Through a dark stone archway and straight up into the air, a white curl of water coming off the blade. |
| 4.5-7.5s | The landing | A wide low stance, a sheet of spray, then a spin that ends with its back to us, cape flying. |
| 7.5-11s | The air slashes | It leaps and hangs in mid-air, whirling and cutting long white streaks while the water jumps below. |
| 11-12s | Very small cat | A speck in front of a giant stone Buddha, lit for a moment by lightning. |
| 12-14.5s | The ready stance | Back on the ground, one last circling slash, then a low stance, sword out. |
| 14.5-15s | The stare | A sudden close-up under the hat. No expression at all. That is the joke. |
Under the hood
Where it came from and how it is made
The earliest Kung Fu Cat clip in the 12 TikTok posts AI Meme Videos checked is from @villagladiisinae on 18 February 2026, captioned as a Chinese Kung Fu Cat on a mission. The same account's Buddha clip followed on 27 February and showed about 1 million views when we checked on 2 November 2026; our 15-second motion reference is cut from it. Whether either is the very first version is unconfirmed.
Two posts in the list had more views: @chenxing9527 at about 2.4 million and @cutetomoai at about 1.4 million. We chose the Buddha clip as the reference because the cat is the only character on screen, which is what a pet photo needs.
Our trend radar first flagged Kung Fu Cat as sprouting on 25 October 2026, months after those early posts, and new posts were still appearing on 31 October. Who started the idea is unconfirmed.

Your cat, not ours
Face, fur, markings and build come from your photo. There are no ginger stripes unless your cat has them.
The costume is added
Every cat gets the same conical hat, short cape, chest strap and long sword, so it reads as the meme straight away.
The route
A 15-second reference fixes the order of the sprint, the leaps and the landings, and the rhythm of the camera.
Played straight
Real fur, real rain, a cold film look. It would be less funny as a cartoon.
The storm sound
The clip asks for rain, thunder, sword whooshes, splashes and drums, with no speech and no song.
Straight talk
Before you upload
For the best result
- Show the markings. Stripes, patches and odd ears are what make it recognisably your cat, so choose a photo that shows them.
- Grumpy faces win. The clip ends on a stare, so a flat, unimpressed expression in the photo suits it better than a sleepy one.
- One animal per photo. Crop out other pets and people; the generator casts one fighter.
- Write the legend. The caption does half the work: Master Biscuit, destroyer of curtains, returns.
Good to know
- One pet photo in, one 15-second vertical clip out.
- Your pet gets a black hat, cape and sword; its face and markings stay its own.
- The clip asks for storm and sword sounds with no speech; no song is added.
- The prompt has not been test-run, so details such as the sword hand may vary.
- Licensed characters such as Kung Fu Panda are not part of this page.
- Standard 720p costs 10 credits, 480p costs 5; credits come back if a render fails.
- It is an AI gag: no real cat is holding a sword.
