The short answer

What is the BTS Swim Dance meme?

The BTS Swim dance is the fan cover trend for SWIM by BTS, named after the front-crawl swimming arms in the chorus, and AI Meme Videos turns one photo of you into a 15-second cover of it with the song under it.

The BTS Swim dance is the choreography fans copy from SWIM, the BTS title track from the album ARIRANG. Its signature is easy to spot: the arms take turns reaching over the head and pulling down like a front-crawl swimmer while the dancer stays low in a lunge. Around it come chest pops, a hair flip and a deep squat with a breaststroke scoop.

Real dancers started posting covers in March 2026, and right behind them came AI versions: cats in leather jackets, fluffy creatures, penguins in wigs and AI people on famous streets, all doing the same 15 seconds. In late October the AI versions picked up again, which is when the radar flagged it.

On AI Meme Videos you upload one photo of yourself. The render dresses you in a cropped jacket and wide track trousers, follows a real fan cover step for step, and puts you in a spotlit studio, on a train street or by a river at night. The song is added underneath when the video is done.

4 steps

How to do the BTS Swim Dance trend

01

Upload a photo of yourself

One person, face clearly visible. A full-body photo helps the model get your height and build right.

02

Pick where you dance

Spotlit studio, train street or river at night.

03

Pick a model and quality

Standard at 720p is the default and costs 10 credits; 480p costs 5. Higher tiers keep fast arms sharper.

04

Download and post

The 15-second cover comes back with the song. Post it with your usual Swim challenge tags.

Under the hood

Where it came from and how it is made

The motion on this page comes from a solo fan cover by @chumkpop (Maja Ciesielska), posted on TikTok on 23 March 2026; when we checked it on 27 October it had about 1.2M views and 155K likes. It is a fan dancing, not a member of the group.

AI covers followed within days: the earliest we found is an AI cat in a leather jacket by @meogyangyi on 21 March 2026, then a fluffy creature by @nimbus.studio on 26 March (about 64K views) and an AI penguin by @nyamnyam_kkong on 28 March. The radar logged a fresh wave of AI covers on 26 October 2026.

The song is owned by its label. The clip you make here uses it only as a soundtrack, the way TikTok covers do; check the music rules of the platform you post on.

Your face

Your photo decides who dances. The generator is told to keep your face and never swap in a singer's face, so the result is a fan cover by you.

The steps

The motion reference is 15 seconds of a real solo fan cover filmed with a fixed camera, so every step, lunge and stroke is in frame and on the beat.

The outfit

Every render uses the same cropped jacket and loose track trousers as the cover, because wide trousers make the lunges read clearly.

The place

Three backdrops: the spotlit studio of the cover, a railway street like the AI CapCut covers, or a river skyline at night like the AI cat covers.

The song

SWIM is laid under the finished 15 seconds from the same point in the song as the cover, so the strokes land on the chorus.

Straight talk

Before you upload

For the best result

  • Full body beats a selfie. The dance is all legs and arms. A head-to-toe photo gives far steadier lunges than a close-up selfie.
  • Your own photo only. Use a photo of yourself or someone who said yes. Photos of celebrities or idols are not allowed and will not be turned into a cover.
  • Plain clothes are fine. The render swaps your outfit for the cover outfit anyway, so what you wear in the photo does not matter much.
  • Try Pro for the hair flips. Fast turns and flying hair are where cheaper models smear. If the first try looks soft, the Pro model holds detail better.

Good to know

  • One photo in, one 15-second vertical dance cover out.
  • Three places: spotlit studio, train street, river at night.
  • SWIM by BTS is added under the finished clip.
  • Only your own face: no celebrity or idol photos.
  • Standard 720p costs 10 credits, 480p costs 5; credits come back if a render fails.
