The short answer
What is the Bald Filter Prank meme?
The bald filter prank is a fake 10-second selfie clip of someone shaving their head completely bald, sent to a parent or friend as a wind-up, and AI Meme Videos makes it from one photo.
The setup is a selfie video: someone talks to the camera, lifts a pair of electric clippers and runs them straight down the middle of their head. Ten seconds later the hair is gone and they stare into the lens, bald. The caption says it is going to their mum, dad or sister to see the reaction. In truth the clip came out of an AI template fed one ordinary photo, and their hair is fine.
People call it the bald filter, the shaved head filter or the hair shave prank filter; the radar logged it as "bob". It is not a bob haircut filter and it is not the makeup prank filter, though both sit under the same "prank filter" captions on TikTok. What sells it is the deadpan face at the end, and the hair that gets shaved is the person's own.

How to do the Bald Filter Prank trend
Pick the photo
One adult who is in on it, face to camera, hair clearly visible.
Generate
Choose a model and resolution, then wait a few minutes for the 10-second clip.
Add the caption
"Sending this to my mom to see her reaction" is the classic. Add it where you post.
Beat by beat
The 10-second clip, beat by beat
Timed from the original clip. Every render follows this sheet.
| Time | Beat | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 0-2 s | Just chatting | Full head of hair, talking to the camera like nothing is about to happen. |
| 2-3 s | The clippers | A black trimmer comes right up to the lens, blue light on. |
| 3-5 s | Down the middle | One pass from forehead to crown opens a bare stripe, and there is no going back. |
| 5-7 s | Finishing the job | Arm over the head, sides and back get the same treatment. |
| 7-10 s | The stare | Smooth bald head, blank face, a slow turn and a rub of the scalp. |
Under the hood
Where it came from and how it is made
The earliest posts AI Meme Videos found are CapCut template clips from 28 to 30 April 2026, captioned "She's gunna freak out" and "Sending this to my mom to see her reaction", one tagged #seedance2. Who made it first is unconfirmed. The biggest single post we checked, from 30 April, showed about 22.2 million views on 2 November; our reference clip, from 28 April, showed about 2.5 million.
A second wave came in late August 2026 with Spanish and English how-to posts titled "Pranking my friends with the bald filter", one of them near 2.2 million views. Our radar first logged it on 17 October and marked it as fading on 28 October 2026, so this page is about a meme that is past its peak.

One person swapped
The man in the reference goes; the selfie angle, the room and every clipper move stay.
Their hair first
The clip opens with the hair from the photo, so the loss looks like theirs.
Same face after
Brows, beard, skin tone and face shape carry through to the bald end.
Clean picture
The reference's caption and app mark are dropped, leaving room for your own line.
Straight talk
Before you upload
For the best result
- More hair, bigger shock. Long or curly hair makes the drop to bald hit harder.
- No hats. Caps, hoods and headbands hide the hair the clip needs to shave.
- Straight on. A clear front-facing photo keeps the face steady once the hair is gone.
Good to know
- This is one fixed routine for one person; the room and moves cannot be changed.
- Hands passing over the head can blur or glitch for a moment.
- Likeness is not guaranteed. A failed render returns its credits.
- Adults only, with their agreement. Label it as AI when you post, and do not use it to scare someone who may be upset by hair loss.
Questions at the fence
Bald Filter Prank FAQ
What is the bald filter prank?
The bald filter prank on AI Meme Videos is a 10-second selfie clip in which someone shaves their whole head with electric clippers, made from one photo and sent to family or friends as a joke. Nobody actually loses any hair: the shave is generated.
Is the bald filter the same as the bob filter?
No: on AI Meme Videos the bald filter prank shaves the head completely, while searches for "bob filter" mostly mean a bob haircut try-on. Our radar logged this meme as "bob", but the clips it points to are all head shaves, and that is what this 10-second video makes.
Is it the same as the makeup prank filter?
No: AI Meme Videos has a separate prank filter page for the fake makeup routine, and this bald filter prank is a different 10-second clip that ends with a shaved head. Both get posted under "prank filter" captions on TikTok, which is why they are often mixed up.
Where did the bald filter prank start?
The earliest posts AI Meme Videos found are CapCut template clips from 28 to 30 April 2026, with captions like "She's gunna freak out"; who made it first is unconfirmed. Our 10-second reference clip is cut from a @capcuttokky post dated 28 April 2026.
How many views has it had?
The biggest bald filter post AI Meme Videos checked on 2 November 2026 showed about 22.2 million TikTok views, a 30 April clip captioned "Hair shave prank filter". Our 10-second reference post showed about 2.5 million. These are single-post numbers, not a total for the meme.
Is the bald filter prank still trending?
Not really: AI Meme Videos' radar marked the bald filter prank as fading on 28 October 2026, after an April start and a second wave of how-to posts in late August. The 10-second clip still works as a one-off wind-up, but expect fewer people to be riding it.
How much does a bald filter video cost?
A bald filter prank video on AI Meme Videos costs 10 credits at the default Standard 720p and 5 credits at 480p for the 10-second clip. If a render fails, the credits go back to your balance automatically.
Does the video have sound?
Yes: AI Meme Videos generates the 10-second bald filter clip with its own sound, a short remark at the start and the buzz of the clippers. The TikTok posts AI Meme Videos compared did not share one song, so there is no track to match.
Is the bald filter an app?
No: AI Meme Videos is a website you use in a browser, and the bald filter prank here is a 10-second video made from one photo rather than a live camera filter. On TikTok most people reach it through CapCut template links, a separate product we have no tie to.
Whose photo can I use?
Use your own or that of an adult who agrees to it: AI Meme Videos makes one person per 10-second bald filter video, and photos of minors are not allowed. Do not use it to mock someone's looks or to frighten a person going through real hair loss.
